The New York Collaborative Regional Coordinating Center (NYCC-RCC) is a collaborative effort between the NIH and three major academic medical centers in New York City and their affiliates. These centers include the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), New Your University (NYU) School of Medicine, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM). The NYCC-RCC facilitates groundbreaking research in stroke treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation. the NYCC-RCC encompasses all five NYC boroughs and reaches all the wat to Westchester and Long Island. As one of the top enrolling NIH StrokeNet centers for Black/African American patients and patients who identify as Hispanic, we are committed to serving those patients who are underrepresented in stroke research. We acknowledge that individuals of lower socioeconomic groups suffer a disproportionately high burden of risk, disability, and death from stroke and work to address this through ensuring a diverse population of patients is represented in our trials.
