The Cincinnati Regional Coordinating Center includes over 50 collaborators, including internationally renowned clinical trialists who are funded PIs by NIH, PCORI, and Industry, study coordinators, and scientists, with complementary skill sets in theory, design, and “real-world” experience regarding acute treatment, stroke prevention, recovery, and biomarker development and validation. We have led and/or clinically coordinated numerous NIH multicenter national and international clinical trials (ex: IMS I, IMS II, IMS III, CLEAR, CLEAR-ER, STOP IT, PRISMS, BEST-II) and observational studies (GERFHS, GCNKSS, ERICH, ROSE, BEST, VERIFY), in addition to industry trials. We have consistently been a leading enroller in trials since the pilot NINDS rtPA studies in the 1980’s to more recent trials such as POINT (#3), BEST-II (#2), ARCADIA (#7), ARCADIA CSI (#5) and the ongoing MOST (#3), SLEEPSMART (#6), FASTEST (#5), I-ACQUIRE (#2), TRASPORT-2 (#5), VERIFY(#7) trials. We have over 20 research coordinators with 100 years of collective experience between them. Our PI and co-directors, Drs. Khatri, Mistry, and Demel facilitate this highly accomplished group’s involvement in NIH StrokeNet.
